With a debut release on µ-Ziq’s own UK based Planet-Mu label entitled “Crying Over Pros For No Reason,” Ed Ma unleashes a signature style that crosses cut-up rhythms, crunked out beats and melodic funk. In the past Ma was a resident DJ at Konkrete Jungle, and Dublab Radio. During that time he produced and recorded for some of the finest in leftfield hip-hop such as, Busdriver (Ninja Tune), Sole (Anticon), Dr. Oop (Black Love), and Emanon (illBoogie).

Ma also composes music for films and commercials. He spent a year at the now defunct Tomandandy, where he worked on feature films such as the Mothman Prophecies and the Rules of Attraction. After composing award winning spots such as Lee Jeans’ “Emu” and Ford Focus “Nesting Dolls, Ma left Tomandandy for bi-coastal powerhouse, FTM, where he is currently an artist in residence. With upcoming releases / remixes on Plug Research, and Ghostly International, Ed Ma has proved to be a staple in Los Angeles’ burgeoning indie music scene, not to mention one of the youngest, and most forward thinking commercial composers in his field.
